Employing a hospital-based approach, a cross-sectional study at Debre Birhan Comprehensive Specialized Hospital was undertaken from May to August 2021. To ascertain sociodemographic information and possible linked elements of enterococcal infections, a validated structured questionnaire was used. The bacteriology section received and cultured clinical samples, including urine, blood, swabs, and other bodily fluids, that were sourced from participants during the study period. The study group comprised 384 patients who tested positive for HIV. Confirmation of Enterococci was achieved through a multi-pronged approach encompassing bile esculin azide agar (BEAA) identification, Gram staining, catalase activity, 65% salt broth growth, and BHI broth growth at 45°C.
